This review covers plug-in trackers from OneStepGPS (https://www.onestepgps.com). The company supplied the trackers for the review at no charge and we returned the trackers at the end of the review. We received no compensation or incentive for the review.

In addition to plug-in trackers, the company also offers: hardwired trackers, dashcams, asset tracking (equipment, trailers, dumpsters, etc), FMCSA-Approved ELD with Real-Time GPS, etc.

tldr: The company was responsive to any questions we had. We received the trackers promptly and they were easily installed. The desktop and mobile screens performed well and provided lots of information about vehicle routes and stops. The trackers also sent alerts to the admin email about incidents like aggressive acceleration, harsh braking, etc.

The company was pleasant to work with - promptly responding to inquiries and questions. The trackers were delivered via FedEx and were labeled with the specific vehicle names. We tracked both an EV and an ICE (internal combustion engine) vehicle. A company representative explained that the trackers would be slightly different because of technical differences between EVs and conventional vehicles.

Installing the trackers in the vehicles' OBD2 ports was as easy as plugging in a lamp. The company also supplies y cables to secure/hide the tracking unit if desired. We plugged in the EV tracker first and it was displayed on the map by the time we walked back into the office. The second unit took 20 minutes or so before it showed up on the map.

The tracking worked flawlessly. The vehicles could be seen moving on the map live. You can also view trip history and even replay previous days' routes and stops. History includes engine idle times and time at each stop. The system notes things like fast acceleration, harsh braking, and harsh cornering and sends a message to the admins about these events. The system will also send an alert if the tracker is disconnected. The system also creates a number of reports including IFTA (International Fuel Tax Agreement), scorecards, etc

Our test primarily involved setup, tracking capabilities, and use of the software. The trackers provide a number of capabilities that we did not test including maintenance alerts and integrations with other fleet related providers.

In summary, the company provided excellent customer service, the software was intuitive and easy to use and during the week plus time we trialed the trackers they performed without a hitch.
