Comfort: 4/5
This review is based on a test drive. The 2026 Equinox EV rode and handled well. In terms of comfort, it would be a good choice for longer drives.
The dash and screens were designed well and were easy to read. We were comparing the Equinox to an older Chevrolet Bolt and the cameras were a vast upgrade. The interior was roomy and the seats (power driver seat with comfort package) were easy to adjust and it would be easy to find a good fit for most drivers. There was ample leg room for front and rear passengers.
The main areas where the car did not perform as well as the Bolt were in acceleration and driver visibility. While acceleration was not terrible the Equinox was sluggish compared to the Bolt. Also, particularly in the rear view, visibility was worse than the Bolt.
The Equinox charging speed is much faster than the Bolt and the Equinox is capable of a respectable 150 KW. While not the fastest it is not bad. The stated range on the Equinox is 319 miles. That is 70-80 miles more than the Bolt and could make a difference to a fleet driver.
Overall, the Equinox performed well on an initial test drive and would make a comfortable fleet car. However it does not accelerate as quickly as some other electric cars and rear visibility is just ok. While the car can charges at a reasonable rate at a fast charger, some reviewers have found it takes over 40 minutes to charge from 10% to 80% and this could be an issue for fleet drivers that make regular long trips.
